BONNER SPRINGS, KS Quentin's BBQ & Sides, 611 W. 2nd Street at the Fuel House, Bonner Springs, Kansas 66012 – Open 11am-9pm Tuesday through Sunday. Awesome food, cool atmosphere, fantastic service. The Fuel House is home to several restaurants, a microbrewery, coffee bar (yes, with hand-crafted cocktails), ice cream shop, and fun yard games with indoor and outdoor seating. Make a day of it and shop downtown Bonner Springs on Oak and Nettleton on your way over to the Fuel House. Be sure to check out Grip’N’Rip KC Indoor Golf & Hobby Shop inside the Fuel House before dinner for some collector’s items and fun, simulated golf. GARDNER, KS The City of Gardner is excited to welcome a second brewery to town in less than two years. Transport Brewery, with its original location in Shawnee, plans to open a 5,000/sq ft facility & patio in the historic downtown in the first half of 2022, joining ExBEERiment Brewing in serving local craft beer in Southwest Johnson County. The community is also excited to host the 2022 KC AirShow at New Century AirCenter on Labor Day weekend, September 3-4, 2022. This year’s air show is headlined by the USAF Thunderbirds and will once again feature a stellar lineup of military and civilian performers, following up the successful 2021 show with almost 50,000 people in attendance. LENEXA, KS Support local growers and makers at Lenexa's indoor Winter Farmers Market on Saturday, January 29 from 10am-noon. Get your favorite goodies and keep in touch with Lenexa Farmers Market vendors on the last Saturday of the month from January through March. Expect cool season vegetables (onions, garlic and greens), eggs, cheese, butter, honey and beeswax body products, BBQ sauces and rubs, wine, various meats, salsa and bakery items. Liberty Fall Festival - Sept. 23-25 - Hosted by the Liberty Area Chamber of Commerce - The festival has over 200 artists & vendors and two stages packed with entertainment from regional and local artists! Kids of all ages can play in the carnival. And, of course, the shopping is second to none with art, unique gifts, handmade quilts, jewelry, pottery, and even treats for your furry friends. What’s a festival without great food?! Our food vendors have it covered! Attendees will enjoy a wide variety of food from funnel cakes to turkey legs. MERRIAM, KS After a two-year break due to the pandemic, Merriam’s Turkey Creek Festival is back in 2022. The City’s largest festival of the year offers up plenty of family fun, music, games, concessions, vendors and more on Saturday, May 21 at Antioch Park.
