Festivals and events
From art to spinach, to BBQ and chili, we celebrate all year long! April means things are heating up and our annual event schedule is getting started. May means it’s time for our annual Art Fair The Lenexa Art Fair is the perfect outing for art enthusiasts and jazz lovers. This one-day, outdoor, juried art fair features about 50 fine artists from the region, live jazz music throughout the day, sidewalk chalk art, children's art activities, food trucks, and wine and craft beer available for purchase. In June, the Great Lenexa BBQ Battle is the official Kansas State Championship and attracts cooks from all over the country. The event begins on a Friday evening and runs all day Saturday. September celebrates our heritage as Spinach Capital of the World with our Spinach Festival. Outdoor music, hands-on activities, craft vendors and the World’s largest Spinach Salad are part of this event which celebrates a piece of Lenexa’s heritage. Our chili challenge in October brings some spicy heat to the cooling temperatures. Held in Old Town Lenexa this event is great for families with live music and fireworks! Lenexa offers seasonal events like our Movies in the Park, Outdoor Concert Series, Friday Night Sound Bites, and Food Truck Frenzy. We get patriotic with our Community Days Parade and Moonlight Bike Ride at the Fourth of July.

If you like to get active, two of our new attractions may be just what you are looking for. Our new skate park, Rolling Magic, is an inclusive community skate park designed for all ages and skill levels. The park is open to nonmotorized bikes, skateboards, scooters, inline skates and wheelchairs. Lenexa's Black Hoof Disc Golf Course is a premier destination for disc golf in the Kansas City area. The championship-level, 10,000-foot-long 18-hole disc golf course includes multiple tee-pads and basket locations on most holes, offering course variations for users. There is also a shorter 9-hole disc golf course which is great for families and novice players. With over thirty parks, you can spend time outdoors, walking, playing or just relaxing. Our parks offer playgrounds, too!

The Lenexa Public Market is a food-hall offering international flavors and traditional favorites! Our newest merchant, Cardboard Corner Café, offers over 200 games to play while you enjoy something from their unique menu.
